Title: Work Zone Mobility and Safety Self Assessment: National Executive Summary Report
Abstract: The Work Zone Mobility and Safety Self Assessment tool (WZ SA) was developed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHA) to help states evaluate their work zone practices and to help assess work zone practices nationally. The WZ SA tool consists of forty six questions that are administered annually and are designed to assist those who manage work zones with the process of assessing their current practices and comparing these current practices with the acceptable standards of the industry. This report summarized the results of the 2002 baseline self evaluations conducted by field offices to assess their past work zone activities, establish a baseline of their current state of the practice and provide input for their future work zone quality improvement efforts.
