Title: Guidelines for Temporary Traffic Control
Abstract: Part 6 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) is the national standard for all traffic control devices used during construction, maintenance, and utility activities plus incident management. This handbook summarizes some guidelines listed in the 2003 MUTCD. It is directed to any entity working on a roadway open to public travel. This handbook contains the basic principles of Temporary Traffic Control (TTC), a description of the standard TTC devices, guidelines for the application of these devices, and typical application diagrams. Information concerning proper flagging along with the installation, and maintenance of TTC devices is also presented.
