Title: Gotcha! Construction-Zone Speed Cameras Get Support
Abstract: The Maryland House of Representatives voted 90-45 on Thursday, March 20, 2008, to allow automatic speed-monitoring cameras in highway work zones statewide and in local jurisdictions that approve their use in neighborhoods and near schools. Speed cameras would be put on a highway or residential district with a maximum speed limit of 45 miles per hour or in a school zone. Fines would be $40. The Senate approved a similar bill earlier.
