Campaign Name: NCDOT Work Zone Safety Program
Description: NCDOT's Work Zone Safety Program aims to significantly reduce work zone crashes and fatalities by increasing work zone safety awareness and education across the state. The program is reaching out to specific audiences across the state through a variety of initiatives and activities. The program has produced and distributed educational videos targeting new and future drivers, as well as the professional trucking industry. Program mascots Buddy Barrel and Connie Cone participate in various community and civic events across the state. Promotional items such as pens, pencils, rulers, magnets and key chains are available to the general public.

Video PSAS: Video PSAs include: "Fruits and Nuts - Some Nuts", "Fruit and Nuts - Distracted Driver", "At the Office", and "In the Elevator" (all 30-seconds spots)
Publications: Work Zone Safety Videos include: "A Sudden Change of Plans" and "In the Zone" (educational videos for new and future drivers); "Under Construction: Trucking in the Work Zone" (a safety video for the professional trucking industry)
Materials: Promotional items include bookmarks, pens, pencils, rulers, litter bags, stickers, keychains, band-aid kits, note clips, cups, temporary tattoos, magnets, zipper pulls and written materials
